BY THE INDEPENDENT – There’s a new place to hang out while enjoying Livermore’s picturesque downtown. Vitality Bowls opened on May 25, at 2175 First Street.
“Vitality Bowls is a superfood café specializing in acai bowls, smoothies, fresh juices, panini and salads,” said co-owner Vik Seth. “Everything is fresh and nutritious. The atmosphere is fun, with seating both inside and outside.”
Vitality Bowls is revolutionizing Acai Bowls, a thick blend of the Amazon’s antioxidant-packed acai (ah-sigh-ee) berry along with other fruits and vegetables, and topped with a variety of superfood ingredients. All Acaí Bowls and smoothies contain potassium, fiber, calcium, phosphorus, protein, vitamins, and omega-9 and omega-6 fatty acids. They do not contain fillers like ice, frozen yogurt, added sugar or artificial preservatives.
“Our most popular,” said co-owner Ameet Seth, “are the Warrior Bowl – a blend of acai, almond milk, bananas, blueberries, raspberries, flax seeds, broccoli and a multi-vitamin boost, topped with organic granola, strawberries, almonds, and goji berries, and the Tropical Bowl – acai, coconut milk, apple juice, bananas, mangos, pineapple and flax seeds topped with granola, strawberries, coconut shavings and honey.”
Vitality Bowls began in San Ramon in 2011 when the parents of a daughter with food allergies noticed the need for healthy, safe dining alternatives, and opened the first Vitality Bowls on Market Place Drive. Since franchising began in 2014, the brand has seen significant growth with more than 40 cafés open and in development. This year, Vitality Bowls was named one of Entrepreneur magazine’s Top 100 Franchises as it continues to redefine fast, casual, healthy-food dining.
“We were inspired to open Vitality Bowls to help the local community strive for a healthier lifestyle. The fresh, healthy approach aligns with who we are and how we grew up – not to mention the incredible taste of our offerings,” said Vik. “Also, owning a family business has always been a dream for us.”
The Seths are Dublin residents who also operate a Vitality Bowls café in Brentwood.
