BY NATION’S RESTAURANT NEWS – Former Liquiteria operations chief joins Bay Area company

Vitality Bowls, an açaí bowl specialist based in the San Francisco Bay area, has named Dave Malinowski chief operating officer, the company said Friday.

Most recently the COO of Liquiteria, a four-unit chain in New York City specializing in cold-pressed juice, smoothies and açaí bowls, and before that was director of operations of Swallow Restaurant in Huntington, N.Y.

“Dave is the perfect fit for the Vitality Bowls team,” said Vitality Bowls co-founder Tara Gilad, who held the role of COO before hiring Malinowski. “He joins us with an expansive amount of operations knowledge and a strong background building brands in the restaurant industry that will allow us to continue to provide exceptional support to our existing franchisees, and to further grow Vitality Bowls’ presence across the country.”

Tara and Roy Gilad founded Vitality Bowls in 2011 in San Ramon, Calif., and have grown it to around 70 locations, mostly franchised, in 16 states.
