Our Lafayette Location
Vitality Bowls Lafayette opened May 2015 in Merrill Gardens not far from downtown Lafayette.
Lafayette is a quant city in Contra Costa County about 22 miles from San Francisco. Surrounded by beautiful tree-lined trails and hills, Lafayette is also home to the Lafayette Reservoir and Briones National Park.
The town is known for its top rated schools, small town feel and proximity to the city. Vitality Bowls Lafayette is frequented by local residents and professionals who love stopping by for an acai bowl. A kid’s play area make it a popular place for parents to enjoy a nice, healthy meal while their children play nearby. Customers also love the fresh juices, Panini, salads and smoothies such as the Powernator, made from a blend of Organic Açaí, Guarana, VB Blend, Almond Milk, Strawberries, Bananas, Spinach, and Pineapple. The location also offers organic cold brew coffee and kombucha on-tap. Vitality Bowls Lafayette caters frequently for local events.
Gabi Lazar, an owner of Vitality Bowls Lafayette previously worked as a teacher and was inspired by the concept shortly before becoming a new mom.
“Being the oldest of five, I helped raise my younger sisters and taught them the ways of the world. This inspired me to become a teacher. After spending several years molding the minds of the future, l deeply understand the importance of nutrition and how it affects our development and growth. It seemed only natural that when I was about to have my own son, I would transition to owning a Vitality Bowls. This allowed me the ability to inspire others and provide our community with a healthier option for eating and a place where they could spend time learning about the wonderful benefits of eating our food. I enjoy being able to provide my son and others the future of healthy eating.” -Gabi Lazar
I think that Vitality Bowls are the Mercedes of Acai Bowls. They use all real fruit, not concentrate, with a refreshing variety of toppings and variations so that I never get sick of coming here.
I once tried a bowl with an avocado base (they have monthly specials) that was so delicious. The rest of the time I go for the Detox or Dragon.
One observation about this locations is it seems to employ a lot of teenagers, which could potentially be a bad thing. But in this case, it seems like this branch is offering teens their first job experience and the teens really know their stuff! One day I was feeling sick and asked for a suggestion. The young man at the counter told me to go for something with Spirulina because it brings oxygen to the blood…or something like that? I’ll have to ask again. But that is to say that I like businesses that are supportive of youth, and promote health.
Yes, they are expensive but it is worth paying for all the nutrients I’m putting into my system with each bowl. I’ve never tried the smoothies because the bowls are too good to pass up 🙂 – Lara W. Berkeley, CA
